Teams are working to restore electricity in neighborhoods like Pinheiros, Vila Andrade, Jabaquara and Santo Amaro, for example.
Enel specifies that rain, even moderate to light, hit the concession area this morning, especially in the West and South regions.
Around 12.15 pm, Enel teams intervened on 700 incidents due to the lack of electricity in all 24 municipalities of the Metropolitan Region, including the capital.
Last week, millions of homes remained without electricity in Sao Paulo as strong winds and rain hit the capital and metropolitan region. Electricity was fully restored only after five days.
Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB) met this week with the Enel board of directors and governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) to establish a crisis committee. Civil Protection has issued a storm risk warning for this weekend, raising the possibility of a new power outage.
