Walking Dead: These New Zombies in Daryl Dixon Fans May Not Like!

Please note, below is a detailed plot for Daryl Dixon Season 2 Episode 4, now available on Paramount+. If you haven’t seen it yet and don’t want to know anything about its content, I suggest you stop reading this article now.

Daryl Dixon, Season 2, Episode 4 introduced a whole new form of threat. Fans of The Walking Dead thought they had seen it all, but the spin-off of the horror series has revealed a new version of the zombies, or rather the hungry ones, as they are called in the series filmed in France.

The rules of the genre are very strict

Daryl Dixon sees the title character, played by Norman Reedus, experience new adventures in our country. After securing a place in the group of French survivors, the latter is joined by his constant collaborator Carol Pelletier (Melissa McBride). But before finding Daryl, the latter crossed paths with Marion Gennett.

And this unfortunate encounter is pretty good because the Season 2 villain had a new weapon ready to test out. The serum created by the latter allows him to transform his enemies not into simple zombies, but into super-zombies that can run!

or breaking the rules of the genre—from established horror master George A. by Romero – which stipulates that the dead (which we should never call “zombies”) cannot run. This form of supercharged walkers appeared in the early 2000s in Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead and Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later.

Did the super-zombie recipe die with its creator?

These sprinting zombies are generally described by fans of the genre as “infected” to distinguish them from undead films that respect the codes envisioned by Romero. While The Walking Dead franchise scrupulously respected the tradition, its spin-off Daryl Dixon, on the other hand, decided to break away from it.

It remains to be seen if this new zombie form will survive Marion Gennett being killed by Carol in Season 2 Episode 4. Was this a fitting introduction to one of the more controversial aspects of the sub-horror genre. A new form of threat (like the zombies from Season 1’s “Flamb”?).

Season 2 episodes of Daryl Dixon can be seen every week exclusively on Paramount+ and also available with a subscription to Canal+.
