Luciano Zucco (PL-RS), of the opposition to the government in the Chamber, sent a letter to the president of the TCU, Bruno Dantas, asking that the regularity of hiring and transfers be analyzed
BRASÍLIA – Deputy Luciano Zucco (PL-RS) sent the president of the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU), Bruno Dantas, a request for an investigation into the program of the culture commission of the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
Launched last year by the Ministry of Culture, the program has signed an agreement with civil society bodies in each state to spread culture. Among the organizations covered, two were linked to advisors of the ministry itself, as revealed by Estadão.
In a statement, the ministry specified that the hiring was based on technical criteria, strictly followed, and on the qualifications of the professionals. He also added that there is no conflict of interest.
MP Zucco, a member of the opposition to the Lula government in the Chamber, wants the TCU to evaluate the “legality of the selection, hiring and transfer of resources procedures”.
“Such a complaint raises the need for careful verification of compliance with the principles of morality, legality, impersonality and efficiency in the use of public resources, in accordance with Article 37 of the Federal Constitution,” the letter reads.
