It was one of the surprise hits on Netflix in 2023. Long ranked among the platform’s top viewership charts and winner of 3 Emmy Awards and 3 Golden Globes, AlloCiné’s 4.1 out of 5 audience rating ranks this series among the best fiction of recent years.
The popularity of this product convinced Netflix to give it a second season, even though it was originally a mini-series. Despite the great success of Lee Sung-Jin’s Acharnés, we wondered if this update was a good idea.
Especially since the intrigue of its two main actors, Ali Wong and Steven Yeun’s populated performances, had a decisive ending. To remind you, Acharnes tells us how an unfortunate incident on the road disrupts the lives of two people who spy on each other and become increasingly involved in each other’s existence.
Good news for the 2nd season of the TV series “Acharnés”.
Acharnés season 2 production will soon begin and Netflix knew how to convince us of the merits of this renewal: XXL casting! It was just a rumour, but the information is well confirmed by the platform.
Four actors have been confirmed in the casting of the new season of the series: two famous stars and two young talents will follow. Thus, Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton (Riverdale, May-December) and Kaylee Spahn (Priscilla, Alien: Romulus) are the new faces of Acharnés, which is becoming an anthology series.
Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton and Kailey Spann star in the next installment of creator Lee Sung Jin’s critically acclaimed anthology series, BEEF.

The streaming service also revealed the plot of the new season: “A young couple witness an alarming argument between their boss and his wife, which leads to chess moves and coercion in the elitist world of the country club and its Korean billionaire owner.”.
It is not yet known when Relentless Season 2 will premiere on Netflix, but Lee Sung-jin will return as showrunner. The gritty tone, furious pace and spicy dialogues that he brought in the first flurry of episodes should be back for our utmost enjoyment.
The first season of the series “Acharnés” is available on Netflix.
