Yellowstone: We Finally Know What Happened to the Heroine of 1883!

Yellowstone: We Finally Know What Happened to the Heroine of 1883!

Do we still need a Yellowstone submission? The series, which continues to break audience records across the Atlantic, has five seasons to date and will see the light of day for a sixth very soon! But that’s not all, as the Yellowstone universe continues to expand through spin-off series.

Two prequels have already seen the light of day: 1923, which explores the youth of Spencer Dutton (grandfather of John Dutton, Kevin Costner’s hero in Yellowstone), and 1883, which follows the arrival of the Dutton clan in Montana after a long and dangerous journey. Across the American West.

The main character of this historical miniseries is Elsa Dutton (Isabel May), who is John Dutton’s great aunt and also the daughter of James Dutton (played by country singer Tim McGraw). This prestigious western also saw Tom Hanks sign on for a brief but memorable cameo.

The first episode of Yellowstone featured characters from 1883

The Dutton family cemetery has become a familiar place for fans of the series. From the first episode of Yellowstone, John Dutton buried his eldest son Lee there, near the grave of his wife Evelyn (whose death is revealed a few episodes later, via flashbacks). But the most observant fans also noticed the names of other members of the Dutton family.

A Season 5 episode actually shows the graves of James Dutton, his wife Margaret, and their daughter Elsa. The latter’s death in 1883 made it possible to confirm that he unfortunately did not survive his injuries (his fate remained unresolved at the end of the series).

Other Duttons who did not appear in any of the Yellowstone series also appear on these burials, including a certain Patience Dutton. A character about whom we know nothing, not even a date of birth or death. So is an appearance in the new 1944 prequel out of the question, or is Taylor Sheridan going to make it for another Yellowstone series?

All series derived from the world of Yellowstone can be seen exclusively on Paramount+, which is also available as part of a subscription to Canal+.
