Drama… The killer is none other than Benoit Rouvier (Arthur Choisne), a history student.
A few years earlier, Benoit and Samuel (Clément Moreau), members of the Greco-Roman wrestling team at the University of Nîmes, had a mission to oust Thibault, a teammate. A ritual of integration that unfortunately turned into a tragedy after Thibaut fell from the bridge he had to balance on in the middle of the night because of Samuel.
When Benuel and Samuel try to call for help, Walter Castellano (Eric Savini), a university archeology professor and wrestling coach, stops them and threatens to kill them.
“He made us go down to the bridge to collect all traces of the shell. He also had suicidal thoughts. At training, Thibault told us about his breakup with Victoria. So when the police questioned us, Castellano talked about it. Everyone believed. The next day we played the final as if nothing had happened. We were champions. Everyone got their medal except ThibaultBenoy told the investigators.
So Benoit killed Samuel Vargas in revenge. He explains: “He deserved to die. I realized that the journalist knew everything and that Victoria was finally going to find out the truth. On the one hand, I was relieved that I couldn’t stand the lie anymore. Samuel called me on Sunday evening. He wanted us to see each other outside the arena“.
It was at this point that Vargas admitted to killing a journalist who was investigating the abuse of the wrestling team and more specifically of Thibaut. The two men then fought and Benoit killed Samuel Vargas so he could no longer harm those around him.
And Benoit concludes:The monster wasn’t Samuel, it was Castellano. He and I used it“Even though he didn’t kill anyone with his own hands, Walter Castellano pulled the strings. By terrorizing his students, he manipulated them to maintain his anger and achieve his goals. In fact, he too would eventually be arrested for abusing Thibaut. As well as other abuses committed against his students.
