The number of deaths due to rain in the hinterland rises to 6 after the discovery of the body of a young man in Campinas


A woman had disappeared after a storm caused flooding in several areas of the city; the body was found in the Capivari river

The body of a young woman who disappeared in Campinas (SP), after the attack storm that hit the interior of Sao Paulo last week it was found on Sunday 27th in the Capivari river. It is the sixth victim of the rains in the region. In Campinas the rains caused floods in the Piçarrão and Serafim streams and caused the death of two people. One person is still missing.

The other death in the city is a 22-year-old man. The inland storm also left victims in the cities of Itapira, Itapeva, Itu and Jundiaí.

In Itapira, a 37-year-old man died after his car was hit by a collapsed tree on a rural road. He was treated by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), but did not survive his injuries.

In Itapeva, southwest of São Paulo, a 47-year-old woman was hit by a wall that fell during heavy rain. Samu was called and the victim, with several fractures to his body and a head injury, was taken to the Santa Casa emergency room, but he too did not survive.

In Jundiaí one person died, overwhelmed by the flood. In Itu, in the Sorocaba region, the accident occurred on Thursday 24th, after a strong wind caused a lamppost to fall, falling onto the car of a 27-year-old girl. She was hit in the head and arms. Her father himself took her to the emergency room, but she couldn’t resist.

There is still one person missing in Jandira, in the São Paulo metropolitan region.
