TV Globo has denied rumors that journalist Caco Barcellos would resign due to his health; He remains responsible for Profissio Repórter
The veteran journalist Caco Barcellos (74) was the subject of strong rumors this week that he was resigning from TV Globo for health reasons. However, the broadcaster publicly denied the information, ensuring that the journalist remained fully active.
TV Globo’s communications department acted quickly to deny the rumors, which worried fans of the journalist and the program Professional reportercommanded by him.
In an official statement, the broadcaster was adamant: “It’s not true. Caco is at Globo, he manages Profissão Repórter.”
The note also confirms that the journalist is working at full speed, indicating the production of the program: “In fact, the episode that will air next week hasn’t even been recorded yet, it will be, of course”they reported.

On his Twitter/X, Lito Souza commented on the alleged manipulation of the report: “I gave a really interesting interview to Caco Barcellos at Profissão Repórter. I have made several clarifications that DO NOT speculate on the cause of a plane crash, which is the responsibility of CENIPA. I issued a disclaimer saying that I could technically be talking about the effects of ice buildup on an airplane, BUT that would just be an instruction, with no relation to the Vinhedo accident. Then the program aired and the editor cut it to give the impression that it was a hypothesis of the accident. In Instagram stories I posted the screen recording of the briefing for the program team and the conditions were accepted, whatever they were, there would be no speculation on my part about the cause of the accident“.
