HBO Max has announced the cancellation of the animation “Close Enough” after three seasons.
The series was born from an idea of JG Quintel, author of “Just a Show” (Regular Show), which was one of Cartoon Network’s most successful productions. The storyline had an adult vibe, with dirty jokes and sexual references, and followed a couple facing the difficult experience of living as an adult as they try to raise a young daughter and change their perspective at age 30. .
Released in July 2020, the animation gained an impressive 100% approval on Rotten Tomatoes. But he ended up a victim of the streaming war.
The production was originally made for the American HBO Max, but has concluded an agreement to be distributed by Netflix in the international market. Netflix did not disclose and few people have seen it. In fact, Netflix hasn’t even made the last season available.
“We are very proud of the series and grateful to creator JG Quintel and his partners at Cartoon Network Studios for making ‘No Maturity for It’ a fan favorite instant production,” said an embarrassed statement from HBO Max.
