Today is the scariest holiday of the year: Halloween! In this case, we return with you to one of the most iconic horror films of the 90s, the hero is nothing more than a demonic clown.
- Want another TV tip tonight? We recommend this much lighter, no-nonsense film starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.
You probably guessed it, it’s by Tommy Lee Wallace. This horror film, released in theaters in 1990, is the first adaptation of Stephen King’s novel of the same name.
In October 1957, in the village of Derry, seven children encounter an unimaginable horror that appears in several forms, including “Penny-Grip”, a clown who lives, hunts and kills in the town’s sewers. A few years later, these children, who have grown up and survived the traumatic events, return to the city to stop this murder.
“We’re all floating down.”
Before Bill Skarsgård and his chilling smile graced the screen, British actor Tim Carr played the nasty Pennywise in Andy Muschietti’s It and That: Chapter 2.
And his performance today is as iconic and terrifying as that horror film. And although the special effects are a bit dated (compared to the two films Andy Muschietti), its plot, in turn, traumatized generations of viewers and instilled in some of them a phobia of clowns.
in that Since 1990, our evil clown with bloodshot eyes and long sharp teeth has been splashing, and the atmosphere is especially dark, heavy and disturbing, especially since the film lasts more than three hours!
Over time, this horror film has become a true classic, so much so that even without seeing it, there are few people who do not have a reference: “George, do you want a balloon?” An iconic sequence, terrifying and thrilling as this first adaptation of the master of horror.
Tonight at the Paris premiere at 10:55 p.m.
