Netflix series about Ayrton Senna gets a revealing trailer – watch

The “Senna” series, which will be released on Netflix, is a fictional miniseries that explores the life and career of iconic Brazilian Formula 1 driver, Ayrton Senna. The production, scheduled for November 29, 2024, consists of six episodes that will chronicle Senna’s first steps in motorsport until his tragic death during the San Marino Grand Prix in 1994.

The plot begins with his move to England to compete in Formula Ford, highlighting his successes, joys and challenges throughout his career.

Actor Gabriel Leone was cast as Ayrton Senna and described the experience as one of the greatest challenges of his career, underlining the honor and responsibility he felt in telling this story. The cast also includes names such as Alice Wegmann, Kaya Scodelario, Matt Mella and Hugo Bonemer, who play significant characters in the pilot’s life, such as his wife Lilian and rival Alain Prost. Vicente Amorim is the showrunner of the series, directed by Julia Rezende.

The series promises not only to portray Senna’s racing career, but also to explore his personality and personal relationships, bringing to light lesser-known aspects of the driver’s life. Netflix has already released an official teaser that highlights the emotional nature of the narrative and Senna’s importance on the global sporting scene.

The production is carried out by Gullane in collaboration with the Senna family and Senna Brands, guaranteeing an authentic look into the champion’s life.
