His sister and minister for racial equality, Anielle Franco, celebrated the mention.

“Three days after a historic trial that honored the legacy and memory of my sister, one of the supporting texts mentions her name,” the minister said, in an Instagram post.

“This means honoring our heritage, affirming our history and our commitment to memory. Brazil, it’s time to listen to the Marias, Mahins, Marielles, Malês,” he added.

The essay aims to evaluate the argumentative and writing skills of the candidates. Participants will have to develop a text of maximum 30 lines, based on the proposed theme. The presentation of a thesis, a coherent argument and a proposed solution to the problem addressed are required.

With a maximum score of 1,000 points, the essay has a major impact on the final result of Enem. Receiving a zero prevents the exam score from being used for access to public or private universities, as well as compromising the possibility of obtaining scholarships or exchanges.

On this first day the candidates were asked questions on Languages ​​and the Human Sciences, as well as on Writing. Next Sunday, 10th, the students will take the Mathematics and Natural Sciences tests.

Trial on the Marielle case

Six and a half years after the executions of Marielle Franco and Anderson Gomes, former military police officers Ronnie Lessa and Élcio de Queiroz were tried and convicted. Both were kept in preventive detention and will bear the costs of the trial, without the right to appeal while at liberty.
