The ball is rolling again in the 2024/25 Champions League phase. This Wednesday (6), Red Star and Barcelona will face each other at 17:00 (Brasilia time), at the Rajko Mitic stadium, known as “Marakana”, in Belgrade, Serbia. The duel will be valid for the 4th round of the competition, which this year will be played in a new formula.

How does the Red Star arrive?
Red Star are having a bad start to the Champions League and have yet to score any points in the competition. So far there have been three games and three defeats, against Benfica, Inter and Monaco. Therefore, a win over Barcelona is essential to keep the team with a chance to fight, at least, for a place in the knockout playoffs.
Despite the poor performance in the Champions League, the team is the isolated leader of the Serbian championship, with 37 points in 13 games.
Red Star, however, will have to fill some absences to face Barcelona. Ivanić, Mimović, Olayinka and Radonjić, all injured, are out of action. Furthermore, Duarte and Glazer appear doubtful.
How Barcelona arrives
On the other hand, Barça is experiencing a great moment this season under the leadership of coach Hansi Flick. This is because, in addition to being comfortably at the top of the Spanish championship, the Catalan club won 4-0 against Real Madrid, at the Santiago Bernabéu, as well as beating Bayern Munich 4-1, in this phase of the Champions League.
Barcelona is therefore in 10th place in the Champions League, with six points from three games.
Finally, the team continues to be missing goalkeeper Ter Stegen, defenders Araújo, Eric Garcia and Christensen, midfielder Bernal and striker Ferran Torres, all of whom are in the club’s medical department.
