Prime Video has released the first images from Sylvester Stallone’s next superhero movie: Samaritan. The mythical rock actor has already ventured into the superhero world, but more daringly. We’ve actually met Stallone in the MCU as Stakar Ogord in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and in the DCEU as King Shark in Suicide Squad, which he lent his voice to.
In his first major superhero role, Stallone plays Samaritan, a character described as a retired superhero, but his young neighbor, Sam (Javon Walton in Euphoria ), a teenager, makes it his mission to sneak out of his hideout. In the first shots of the film, Stallone’s character, Mr. Smith, is shown in casual attire: jeans and a hoodie.
However, one photo hints at her over-the-top nature, showing her effortlessly chasing away a group of boys. As for the poster, it shows a vague glimpse of his superhero alter ego in a puddle.
In addition to Stallone and Javon Walton, in these pictures we can a priori find Pilo Asbeck (Game of Thrones and Borgen) in the role of the antagonist named Cyrus. Other cast members include Dascha Polanco (Orange Is the New Black), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Moises Arias, Jared Odrick, Michael Aaron Milligan and Deacon Randle. Directed by Julius Avery (Overlord) and written by Bragi F. Schut, Samaritan arrives August 26 on Amazon Prime Video.
