Journalist Sônia Bridi, known for her work at Globo, went to court against actor Rafael Cardoso (“Save-se Quem Puder”), ex-husband of her daughter Mariana Bridi. He asked for a precautionary measure, accusing him of psychological, moral and patrimonial violence. According to the request, Cardoso is considered a threat to Sônia and her family.
According to columnist Gabriel Perline, the actor broke into the journalist’s home to offend her and destroy her car, as well as threatening an employee of the house. Sônia Bridi reportedly reported that her ex-son-in-law used drugs and alcohol.
Restrictive measures
The incident allegedly occurred on August 18 last year and Sônia Bridi formalized the complaint on the 24th. Judge Cintia Souto Machado de Andrade, of the VII Domestic Violence Court of Rio de Janeiro, granted the precautionary measure the following day , based on the ruling. Reads Maria da Penha.
The court’s decision prevents Rafael Cardoso from contacting his ex-mother-in-law by any means and establishes a minimum distance of 100 meters. Failure to comply with the measure may result in imprisonment.
The action brought by Sônia Bridi would have pushed Mariana Bridi to also denounce her ex-husband, asking that she and her children be protected from any approach by Rafael Cardoso.
Rafael Cardoso’s positioning
Last October, Rafael Cardoso denied any violence against his ex-wife and children. He said the two ongoing cases, which are being handled in secret, do not involve assaults. “I am at peace, with a clear conscience. I have never laid a finger on either the mother or my children. As soon as justice appears, I will break the silence and you will know the real story,” he said.
Neither he nor Mariana and Sônia Bride have returned to talk about the case, but the space remains open for updates and statements.
Rafael Cardoso is currently married to Carol Ferraz, with whom he has a daughter.
