Blending action, adventure and romance, this young adult series features the Pogues, a group of friends consisting of John B (Chase Stokes), Sara (Madeline Klein), Kiara (Madison Bailey), JJ (Rudy Pankow), Pappy (Jonathan Davis) and Cleo (Carlasia Grant), who hunt for various treasures, directly or indirectly related to family secrets.
Will the universe of the “Outer Banks” series expand?
The fourth season of Outer Banks has been available in its entirety on Netflix for a few days now, and fans are already deeply invested in the twists, intrigue, and especially the tragic ending of these new episodes.
The platform has already announced that the series has been renewed for a fifth season, which will also be the last according to the original plan of the creators. But this latest flurry of episodes may not signal the end of the outer banking world.
This is something the series creators seemed to be teasing in an interview term : “We’re very excited about Season 5, as well as the other stories in this universe.”
While they did not provide further details, they did indicate that ideas for a potential spinoff series and other ideas for expanding the outside banking universe are being explored. According to the American media, there is currently no officially developed project.
But it wouldn’t be surprising if Netflix adopted this strategy for Outer Banks, as the platform does for its most popular series like Bridgerton or Stranger Things.
A true popular phenomenon on the platform and social networks, Outer Banks already has an invested community and an expanded world, with a series, a video game and the annual Poguelandia event, a kind of music festival that has gathered many fans.
