Four sports films represented Brazil with honors at a major festival held in Italy

Brazil dominated the competition in the “Film & TV” category during the Milan Film Festival, which concluded this weekend in Italy. The documentary “Bola pro alto”, by Cecília Lang, was the big winner in telling the story of the tall girl. There are three more in the top-10. Also “Doval”, by Sérgio Rossini and Federico Bardini, about the idol of Flamengo and Fluminense. And “The Firsts”, by Adriana Yañez, which pays homage to the pioneering spirit of the women who fought to establish women’s football in the country.

Closing the list of the ten best films are “The story of Fabrizio Maiello”, “Fight for the ball” and “Seydou”, from Italy; “Football on the Roof,” from China; “Parviz khan”, from Iran; and “La Valle dei Cantieri”, from Bosnia.

Vasco, the strength of the Giant

Director and screenwriter of “The Force of the Giant”, Marco Antonio Rocha celebrated the success of the Brazilian productions at the Milan Film Festival.

“We are the country of football, but we still have a lot to grow when it comes to sport in cinema. It is a great recognition for a job done with great care and a wealth of detail. In the case of the film about Vasco, we have no television images of the competition and, therefore, we have chosen to animate some of the main events. Furthermore, great personalities testify to how that legendary Expresso da Vitória team formed a legion of Vasco fans and many other fans who have fallen in love with the team since as children”, says the person responsible for the documentary “A Força do Gigante”, available on YouTube.
