Airbnb, in partnership with Paramount Pictures, is offering 16 guests a night at the Rome Colosseum as part of a Gladiator IIfilm directed by Ridley Scott already showing in cinemas.
Those who manage to make a reservation, which will be open from the 27th of this month, will be able to spend three hours at the site for free on the 7th or 8th of May next year.
“The patron will meet you at the Colosseum after sunset and guide you inside. Whether you emerge from this night victor or vanquished, know this: your eyes will behold a rare sight. The memory of the candlelit Colosseum will be yours “, says description on the Airbnb website.

According to the company, visitors will be able to choose their own armor and will pass through “torch-lit labyrinths in the bowels of the Colosseum.”
“Delight in the symphony of swords and shields as experienced gladiators face off in a thrilling duel for your delight. You must study them — for your turn will soon come,” it continues. “Train in the art of gladiatorial combat and test your courage as you face your comrades in arms.”
Guests will also eat “a selection of foods such as grapes, pomegranates, almonds and walnuts” during their gladiatorial experience.
