The coach is looking for an alternative team that can face Timão on Wednesday, three days before the match against Racing
Cruzeiro coach Fernando Diniz will have to form an alternative team for the match against Corinthians for the Brazilian championship next Wednesday (20/11) in Sao Paulo. After all, he intends to save the starters for the Copa Sudamericana match against Racing in Paraguay on Saturday. To avoid the risk of losing a strategic athlete in the team, Diniz will use names that are usually found on the bench.
The coach could not already select three starters: midfielder Matheus Pereira and forwards Kaio Jorge and Gabriel Veron, all suspended for the third yellow card, received in the victory over Criciúma in Mineirão.
In goal, Diniz’s option is Anderson, leaving Cássio preserved for Saturday. On the sides, Wesley Gasolina and Kaiki are considered for William and Marlon’s places. Lucas Romero and Matheus should be spared in midfield. In defense, Zé Ivaldo can play alongside Jonathan Jesus. Therefore, João Marcelo and Villalba should be excluded. Among the midfielders, Walace and Lucas Silva will probably not be on the pitch against Timão. Diniz has Ramiro, Jhosefer, Japa and Peralta. In attack Lautaro Díaz could be the choice to start.
Cruzeiro will end the match against Corinthians with the obligation to go directly to Assunção. After all, Conmebol demands that Raposa be present in the Paraguayan capital on Wednesday. The entire team will be in the neighboring country, regardless of the physical condition of each player. The objective, therefore, is to unite the group in an important moment for the club, namely the final of the Copa Sudamericano.
