Banco do Brasil: Customers have already invested R$4.7 million in the Treasury via WhatsApp


The tool will be available to the public from February 2024; the investment customer base increased by 12.2%, regardless of the channel

The customers of Bank of Brazil invested R$4.7 million Direct Treasury using the channel Whatsapp of the bank since the tool was launched in February this year. According to the bank, the customer base investing in Treasury, regardless of channel, increased this year by 12.2%; and the volume in custody of this asset, 12.8%.

Treasury bills were the first investment products taken out by the bank via the messaging application. BB used WhatsApp to provide customer service and recently started including recommendations for as well investmentextracted from the profiles of each investor.



“BB offers digital advice via the WhatsApp bot as a vehicle to expand its highly qualified human advice,” says the bank’s Head of Investments, Fabrício Reis. “In this phygital strategy (mix of physical and digital)we guarantee a multi-channel experience to the customer, who has complete autonomy in choosing the channel he prefers.”

After the Tesouro Direto, the bank began to allow investments in funds and membership of BB Rende Fácil, a product for remunerating resources in a current account. This year the bank has recorded more than 24 million investment-related conversations on the official WhatsApp, an increase of 334% compared to the same period last year.

According to the bank, the strategy adopted since the beginning of this year for the messaging application has been to include more transactions among the options available to customers. In the case of investment consultancy, the focus is on over 3 million clients starting to invest.
