The Choice with Vincent Lyndon: Who are the other actors in the movie whose faces we never see?

Like Buried by Rodrigo Cortés, Gustav Müller’s Guilty or, simply, the feature film from which it is inspired, Le Chouy chooses to show only one actor on screen, from the beginning to the end of the story.

The rest are just voices talking on the phone to the main character, in the case of Gilles Bourdeau’s film, the French remake of Stephen Knight’s Loki.

As in the feature film released in theaters in mid-summer 2014, this film takes us to the passenger compartment of the main character’s car (played ten years ago by Tom Hardy, today by Vincent Lyndon) and we never see those he talks to throughout his journey, while he must Resolve personal and professional crisis.

• Emmanuelle DeVos plays Catherine, Joseph’s wife. A role that, according to director Gilles Bourdeau, was expanded compared to Locke, in which Ruth Wilson played the character.
• The couple’s two children, Lucas and Simon, are played by Milo Machado-Graner (Fall Anatomy) and his brother Solan (Waiting for Bojangles). In the original version it is Tom Holland (he, yes) and Bill Milner.
• Joseph’s mistress and mother of his future child, Beatrice, is voiced here by Pascal Arbillot, and in 2014 by Olivia Colman.
• Damien, a colleague of Joseph’s brought in to manage a huge construction site that shows up the next morning, is played by Micha Lescott. Ten years ago his name was Donal and he was played by Andrew Scott.
• Their boss, Garcia, is voiced by Gregory Gadeboy, who can also be heard in the animated film The Most Precious of Goods from November 20. In Locke, Ben Daniels (London Coroner’s Police) played Garrett.
• Finally, the deeply serious tone of the man Joseph must disturb over dinner to secure the road-blocking, concrete-hauling authority is actor-director Cedric Kahn ( The Goldman Trial ).
