A 52-year-old man dies in Ibirapuera Park, southern Sao Paulo, after falling ill while exercising
A 52-year-old man has died after falling ill while exercising in Ibirapuera Park in southern Sao Paulo. Witnesses said he fell and began showing serious signs, such as tremors and irregular breathing. The call for help was launched, but the situation took a tragic turn due to the delay in rescue. The ambulance present in the park initially refused to provide aid, sparking indignation among those present.
THERE ARE 40 MINUTES UNTIL THE SERVICE ARRIVALS
After insisting, the ambulance driver went to the scene, where a firefighter began CPR on the man. However, effective intervention only occurred after the arrival of the SAMU, which took approximately 40 minutes to intervene in the incident. Despite initial efforts, the man did not resist and died in hospital. The police recorded the death as suspicious, given the sequence of treatment failures.
DEALER SAYS SERVICE WAS QUICK
The incident sparked widespread outrage among witnesses, who pointed to a lack of facilities and resources on site as contributing factors to the tragic outcome. The concessionaire responsible for the park issued a note stating that the first service was carried out by the outpatient team, but the contradictory reports raised doubts about the efficiency of the service and the availability of medical care.
The delay in the arrival of the SAMU and the initial refusal to provide assistance were contested by the SBT, which attempted to contact the Department of Health. The department has not yet commented on the incident.
