Vitrine Filmes released, this Monday (25), the official trailer for Babysecond feature film Marcelo Caetanodirector of Electric Body (2017), which was a hit at this year’s Cannes Festival and won the main prize at the 26th Rio Festival.
What is the story of Baby?
In Babyshortly after being released from a youth detention center, Wellington (João Pedro Mariano) finds himself drifting through the streets of São Paulo. During a visit to a porn cinema, he meets the prostitute Ronaldo (Ricardo Teodoro), with whom he begins to live a relationship full of conflicts, between exploitation and protection, jealousy and complicity.
The production arrives award-winning in Brazilian cinemas: in Cannes, it guaranteed Ricardo Teodoroone of the protagonists, recognition as Best New Actor. At the Lima Festival in Peru, Baby was chosen as Best LGBTQIA+ Film and, once again, Teodoro secured the Gio for Best Performance.
In San Sebastián, Spain, it was recognized as the Best Queer Latino Film of the Year with the edition’s Sebastiane Latino award and, finally, it won the Redeemer Trophy for Best Fiction Feature Film, on the circuit Brazil Premiere of the Rio Festival.
When does it debut Baby in Brazilian cinemas?
