Although interesting for fans of the writer, the production was discreet and did not achieve much impact. The series has not officially arrived in Brazil, neither in streaming nor on physical media.
9. How to Talk to Girls at Parties (2018)

Based on a story by Gaiman, this film is a mix of science fiction, romance and comedy. Despite the intriguing idea, the execution did not convince critics or audiences, making it one of the author’s least memorable adaptations.
In the plot we follow a group of young punks who end up at an alien party. One of them falls in love with one of the young extraterrestrials.
8. Beowulf (2007)

With a screenplay written by Neil Gaiman, this animation is directed by Robert Zemeckis (trilogy Back to the future). The film tells the epic story of Beowulf, a warrior who faces a demon in the service of King Hrothgar’s court.
The film, which used motion capture that was innovative for its time, was visually impressive, but divided opinion.
7. Stardust – The Mystery of the Star (2007)

6. Lucifer (2016-2021)

Derived from the character of The Sandmanthis series has won a legion of fans by transforming the Lord of Hell into a charming Los Angeles detective.
Despite being quite far from the original material, the production was a success and lasted six seasons.
5. Dead detective boys

Inspired by the characters introduced in The Sandmanthis production explores the supernatural world with a light and youthful approach.
The plot follows two ghosts who, after death, become friends and form the Dead Boys detective agency. Together with the psychic Crystal and her friend Niko, they solve intriguing paranormal cases, facing everything from witches to Hell and Death itself.
4. American Gods (2017-2021)

Series based on one of Neil Gaiman’s most famous and acclaimed novels. Produced by Bryan Fuller (Hannibal), the series follows the story of Shadow Moon, who, after leaving prison, begins working for the enigmatic Mr. Wednesday. He will soon find himself involved in a clash between old and new gods.
While the source material was powerful, the series failed to live up to expectations and was canceled after the second season.
3. Beautiful Curses (2019-present)

Adaptation of the novel co-written by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, it is a success. The plot follows an angel and a demon who try to prevent the apocalypse.
The chemistry between the protagonists Michael Sheen (Twilight Saga) and David Tennant (Doctor who) made the series one of the author’s best television adaptations.

An adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s great work has always been highly anticipated by fans. When Netflix announced the series, there were high expectations that it would live up to the cult graphic novel.
