The Milwaukee team remains undefeated in the NBA Cup
Away from home, the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Miami Heat 106-103 on an evening without Giannis Antetokounmpo, but with an incredible Damian Lillard. While the Greek did not play due to a left knee injury, Lillard posted 37 points and 12 assists. Jimmy Butler, on the other hand, scored 23 points, five decisive passes and four rebounds.
But it wasn’t easy at all. After all, without Antetokounmpo for only the second time this season, the Bucks had to settle for Lillard leading the way alone against the Heat. However, in the first period, the veteran point guard scored 17 points and Milwaukee led 31-20. Then, the Milwaukee team opened 18 points before halftime.
Upon returning to the locker room, however, the Heat pressed and began to close the gap. Miami tied the game with 96 points in the fourth quarter, but AJ Green, with two 3-pointers, pretty much defined the Bucks’ victory. In free throws the team achieved its fifth consecutive victory, the seventh in the last eight games.
Now the Bucks are climbing back East, while the Heat have a negative campaign. While Milwaukee has achieved a 50% success rate (nine wins in 18 games), Miami has won seven of 15 games so far.
It is worth remembering that Lillard, before arriving in exchange for the Bucks last season, preferred to play for the Heat. Last Tuesday he made eight 3-pointers against the team he would like to go to.
NBA Cup
In addition to being part of the regular season, Tuesday’s game was also part of the NBA Cup. Now, Lillard and Antetokounmpo’s Bucks have achieved three wins in three games, while the Heat have won only one of three games in the competition so far. .
