Tonight on TV: Clovis Cornillac makes the Tour de France

Every day, AlloCiné recommends watching a movie (again) on TV. Tonight: Laurent Tuel’s feature film set against the backdrop of the Tour de France.

Close to the news, channel L’ÉQUIPE is broadcasting tonight A big loopA feature film by Laurent Tuel, set against the backdrop of the Tour de France.

In 2007, producer Renaud Suham was still the CFO of the Rugby World Cup held in France. In the same year, he was offered to cycle the tour route three minutes ahead of the runners. This unprecedented experience then gave birth to a film project, which was directed six years later by Laurent Tuel, a fan of this sporting event since childhood.

Clovis Cornillac is essential to portray the hero Francois Nouel. A highly athletic actor, he puts in a lot of effort in three months of physical training before filming, cycling 3.5 hours a day.

Aside from the spectacle, the film shines in its realism, especially with a budget of 14 million euros and the support of the Tour de France organization, which was then celebrating its 100th edition. In this way, real images of the Tour du France 2012 are integrated into the montage, with two of the stars of French cycling, Bernard Hanno and Laurent Jalabert, recorded in the credits, and Nelson Montfort and Michel Drucker appearing in their own roles.

La Grande Boucle by Laurent Tuel with Clovis Cornillac, Bouli Lanners, Ary Abittan…

Tonight on L’ÉQUIPE at 8.45pm.
