Last Monday (02), in fact, the State of Minas Gerais and the Public Prosecutor decided that the match will take place without an audience. The measure excludes both Cruzeiro and Palmeiras fans. In response, the CBF expressed surprise at the lack of formal communication from the Minas Gerais Military Police on possible security risks. In the letter, the entity stated.
“CBF has always worked in collaboration with public authorities on the issue of safety at competitions. It was therefore surprising that we did not receive any official communication from PMMG on the risks associated with the presence of fans.”
The agency also asked that the initial recommendation be reconsidered
“We ask for a re-evaluation of the previous statement. If the PMMG were to change its recommendation, the CBF may revise its position. Therefore, we will allow the presence of the public, including both fans, while respecting the principles of isonomy and technical balance.”
