Netflix: 2 years in the pipeline, this spy thriller finally has a return date

It’s a series we weren’t necessarily looking forward to returning, but its success in December 2022 has allowed it to be renewed for a second season. Netflix will release The Recruit season 2 online on January 30th and will release the first images on social media. .

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by viewers on AlloCiné, this spy thriller follows a young CIA attorney who finds himself drawn into the dangerous world of international espionage when a former source threatens to expose the agency’s secrets.

A more serious second season?

Thanks to its semi-serious and semi-offbeat tone, as well as the popularity of Noah Centineo, The Recruit managed to entertain subscribers. And the last episode of season 1 officially called for a sequel, which will therefore be released very soon. In anticipation of the first trailer for season two, and thanks to the photos above, we learn that Karolina/Nitschka has finally let Owen go after killing his own mother.

In this sequel, Owen is called to South Korea, where he must deal with a delicate situation, but realizes that the biggest threat may be from the agency itself. So this Season 2 of The Recruit promises to be especially tense for our lawyer who finally gets on the case.

It remains to be seen if the Netflix series will manage to maintain its humor or if it intends to become a true spy thriller like Night Agent. But we have to wait for the first one trailer for that.

What we do know so far is that The Recruit Season 2 will cast actor Teo Yoo (Past Life) as a South Korean intelligence agent and James Purefoy as a British businessman. Nathan Fillion (Castle) will return as CIA director. As for Laura Haddock, who played Max, she is not set to appear in the sequel, meaning her character is indeed dead.
