Sabine Perrault stars as Constance Teisse in Here It All Begins from the very first episode of the series, which aired on TF1 in November 2020. Met by AlloCiné during the 2024 La Rochelle Arts Festival, the actress returns to our microphone on her journey. Through the series (broadcast from Monday to Friday at 18:35 on Page One) and shares his wishes to continue the intrigue…
AlloCiné: This Is Where It All Begins is currently in its 5th season. How do you view this adventure?
It’s like a slice of life. The series takes up half, if not three-quarters of my daily life these days! It’s actually like a family. There are those who leave, there are those who come, there are those who return… I look at this project full of tenderness.
Your character Constance is closely related to the character of her husband Teyssier (played by Benjamin Barochet). Do you feel that you cannot exist without each other on the screen?
True, it is difficult, because when one of us is gone, there are less opportunities for scenes in the context of intimacy and everyday life… Despite everything, I think that Teissier can exist more easily without Constance, because he is tied to the institution and to gastronomy. Therefore, he will always have intrigues, even if only culinary.
However, we did get to see Constance exist without Tessier, such as when she developed a friendship with Rose this summer. In any case, I’m very cool that we like them connected. They are one of the iconic couples of the series, and they are the only ones who have persevered against all odds!
They complement each other very much as she is a bit like the voice of wisdom before him. As for him, he lets it exist, sometimes even in the dark. Constance is not as straight as you think…
Does Constance have secrets from her past to uncover?
I hope! However, I guess we won’t have any more hidden children, because ours is soaked! (Laughs) Life is not linear and we often discover family secrets, parents, grandparents, late… We think everything was quiet, but we have surprises! Fingers crossed we have more in store.
We are going to further explore the relationship between Berenice (Berenice Tannenberg) and Constance?
We were not told about it. But we really want it with Berenice! We want our characters to have a common father. Of course, Tessier could also intervene in this. Now, there are so many of us in this series and there are so many heroes to develop…it’s normal that everyone has their turn.
Do you want to return to the series? Khaled Aluachi and Paula PetrenkoWho plays Theo and Charlene, the children of Constance and Taysier?
We miss them so much. We had a blast the first time we were on set without them! It was strange, Benjamin and I felt out of place… We formed a very strong bond, especially because we were playing family. We call them “kids”, they call them “mom and dad” (laughs)
We loved being with them, we campaigned to bring them back! However, we know that they went to do other things: they are young, they want and need to explore other worlds, other types of projects. It would be nice if they went back to little nephew Axel as I call him. We dreamed of having them with Thomas and Costa for the intrigue. We don’t know anything about it, but we believe it!
What do you think is Constance’s worst act over the years?
When she cheated on her husband! But she loves Tessier in spite of everything, she didn’t want to betray him… She just needed to exist, to be recognized in front of her husband, who exists very strongly and leaves little space, even if he loves his wife. extremely female. He respects her, Constance is one of the rare people he listens to!
I think this betrayal may be the regret of the character, but it did not separate them, it even brought them closer. It was a blessing in disguise and their relationship came out of this crisis even stronger.
Can you be friends with your character?
Yes! Even if she seems a bit annoying at times… True, Constance is still serious: she talks sense and has a bit of a murderous side to her. But so am I! (Laughs) And at the same time, he’s quite funny. We slowly discovered this side… so it can be fun with a little girly side!
