Manga and anime creators are calling for the process of identifying piracy sites to be automated. This is how the idea of using artificial intelligence to combat the problem was born.
According to Japanese authorities, the proposal is inspired by an anti-piracy program adopted by South Korea. The idea is to train an artificial intelligence to browse the Internet for pirated websites, using its image detection system and texts.
The pilot initiative will begin to be implemented gradually. If successful, the system could be applied to other content sectors, such as music and cinema, the Japanese cultural agency said.
The strategy costs 300 million yen (about R$12 million) and is included in the proposed additional budget for the current fiscal year, which ends March 31. The information comes from Folha de Sao Paulo.
