The second season aired on Open TV
Rensga is a series that has a lot of relevance to country culture and brings this universe to life in a playful way, full of beautiful songs. When the first season premiered, we knew we had two more in the works. I was very excited, it’s a series I love doing and, ever since, I’ve been looking forward to Deivid’s dramatic twist. I was also excited to see the new songs. I confess that the singing part was the most intriguing for me in the whole process. And now, at its debut on open TV, it is even more exciting to know that the general public will be able to enjoy the new stories and new music.
Expectations surrounding your character
Fans can expect Deivid to pursue an international career. He starts singing in Spanish, a mix of country music and reggaeton. Love-wise, she’s in a dilemma with Kevin and the audience will have to watch to see this outcome. It’s really fun!
The biggest challenge to bring Deivid to life
Deivid changes a lot from season one to season two. It’s lighter, safer. This change was a challenge. In the first season he couldn’t accept his desires, who he really was. Now the questions are different, he does what he wants with his personal life and his career without losing his essence of Cafajeste.
The most memorable song of the new season
I love the version of “Tudo em Casa” in Spanish, I think the arrangement and lyrics are very well done, it could be played on radio stations all over the world!
I dream of performing some other genre of music
I am an actor who loves challenges and, when it comes to musical genres, I would like to explore everything that I have not yet experienced on stage and in audiovisual. From Rock, Reggae, Funk to Gospel music.
Relationship with public feedback
Rensga is an accessible and very popular series and the feedback is interesting. The story has notable characters, such as Deivid himself, who, in addition to his charisma, addresses an important topic: the difficulty of talking about one’s sexuality and embracing it. In this sense I consider it a great positive point, as several people write to me saying that they felt represented by him in the plot. This is a source of great pride for me, playing a character that inspires the audience.
New projects
It’s been a very busy year, with many releases of previous works and ongoing projects such as the soap opera ‘No Rancho Fundo’, which just ended. There was the premiere of the series ‘Desejos SA’, the second season of ‘Rensga Hits!’, the premiere of the feature film ‘Bocaina’, which I produced and wrote, and now in November the launch of the film ‘Ruas da Glória’ at Black Festival Nights, Estonia. In each of these projects I was able to create different characters and this is what motivates me the most. I am currently creating the script for a feature film that I plan to produce next year.
