Simon Pegg talks about Tom Cruise’s viral mission: Impossible Rant, as well as the lengthy footage of AF’s The Movies

When Simon Pegg and the company signed up to do two Mission Impossible movies in a row, they probably knew they would shoot long takes, but no one knew how long it would be. Due to the global pandemic, the shooting of what we now know is called Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part one , it was significantly delayed and, when it was finally published, was subject to new health and safety protocols. We learned this during production Tom Cruise has adopted these protocols Very truly and Pegg is now as much about the response to Cruise’s rant as the statement itself.

During the initial production of what was then simply known as Mission: Impossible 7Leaked audio of Tom Cruise on set showed that the actor was quite angry with some crew members who were apparently not following the required Covid protocols. Talk with Sirius XM , Simon Pegg found the whole thing quite interesting, as the audio was likely leaked by someone trying to show Tom Cruise in a negative light, and it didn’t quite work. Pegg explained …

Well, that was interesting because they released this audio as some kind of fucking Tom. And actually, everyone was saying “Okay”. He defended other people he employed. You know I had a great old man [sic], but basically what he was saying was correct. It was interesting.

Although there have certainly been rumors criticizing Tom Cruise for the way he approached the issue as a producer on the film. Mission Impossible franchising, the crew technically works for him, there were also many voices that came out in favor of Cruise . Since the start of the pandemic it has been felt that too many people were not taking it seriously enough and to hear that Cruise was certainly cheered by a considerable number of people. Cruise himself never tried to distance himself from what he said. .

Of course, the COVID protocols certainly impacted the production of both. Mission Impossible movie. Filming for part seven has been canceled more than once due to positive on-set testing, and filming has gone much slower than we’re used to due to the need to quarantine when traveling between nations, among other requirements. Consequently, the first of two Mission Impossible the films took a year to shoot and according to Simon Pegg, the eighth part will take the same time. He continues…

I’m a franchise whore. I’m not going to be. It just happened. it is and it is not [a sweet gig]. You sign up for things like Mission: Impossible, we’ve been shooting it since September 2020. Obviously the pandemic has had a big effect on filming, but we’ve been working hard and it’s going to be fantastic. We do two, back to back. So now I’m at number 8 until October next year. You’re a little stuck with it, and as fun as it sounds, it can get a little boring.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part one now it is ready to open in about a year , in July 2023, while the second part will now be released in late June 2024. This first release date seems likely given that the shooting of the first film has been completed. With further delays certainly possible for the second, we’ll have to wait and see.
