If you’re not into romance novels or tired romantic comedies at all, Apple TV+ has another Valentine’s Day offering for you. In a few months, the platform will release a sci-fi thriller with an impossible and dangerous love story at its heart, and has just released its trailer.
Announced two years ago, the film, whose script by Zach Dean was on the “black list” of the best scripts yet to be produced in Hollywood in 2020, is finally coming to our screens and promises to be spectacular and terrifying.
Anya Taylor-Joy and Mills Teller face evil
Titled The Gorge, this thriller, directed and produced by horror aficionado Scott Derrickson (Doctor Strange, Evil, The Black Phone), takes us to a near-future where two creatures bond despite the dangers that await them.
Levy and Drasa, two highly trained agents, are assigned to guard posts located on either side of the Abyss (the chasm that gives the film its name). Guarded in secret, the Abyss protects the world from a mysterious evil.
Despite the distance and chasm that separates them, Levi and Drasa communicate and form a very strong bond. However, they must be alert to the invisible enemy. But when they discover the contents of a catastrophic threat to humanity, they must unite to keep the secret in the Abyss until it’s too late.
The film can count on a solid cast that includes Anna Taylor-Joy (Furiosa), Miles Teller (Whiplash, Top Gun: Maverick) and Sigourney Weaver (Alien, Avatar).
The trailer reveals a bit more about The Gorge, which has long remained a rather mysterious project, and we discover the dangerous world in which the characters will operate, but also a glimpse of the threat that seems to be the creature hidden in this “gate”. hell”.
But the trailer is careful not to reveal too much. To learn more about this terrible evil and the secrets hidden by the government and the predecessors of Levi and Drassa, you will have to wait a little longer, because The Gorge will be released on February 14, 2025 on Apple TV+.
