It’s the kind of streak that only the English know how to do. On January 1, Netflix will pull Lovesick, a three-season comedy that aired from 2014 to 2018, from its catalog, here’s a synopsis:

Dylan learns that he has chlamydia, an infectious disease that is transmitted sexually. A young man is forced to see his ex-girlfriends again in order to find out about his…

Lovesick is a series that deals with the subject of sexuality with a taboo and a little evil, as Sex Education did a few years later. Unfairly little-known but recognized by some fans of the series, this British comedy, with an occasional tendency towards drama, joined the Netflix catalog in 2014, after being broadcast on Channel 4.

And since then, it has been lost in the meanderings of the catalog…

A clumsy but lovable hero

So you only have twenty days left to complete all three seasons. But rest assured they only have 6 episodes for the first one and 8 episodes for the next one (only 25 minutes long!). Each is named after one of Dylan’s former conquests.

Lovesick decodes the relationship between men and women in an extraordinary way, without complexes about STDs, without fear of belief. Besides, it was originally called a series Scrotal Recall (which can literally be translated as “reminder of the scrotum”).

Despite the initial synopsis, the series turns out to be very attractive, especially thanks to its main character, played by Johnny Flynn. Dylan is a bit of a loser who likes to walk and who is secretly in love with his best friend (Antonia Thomas, since seen in “The Good Doctor”).

Opposite his best friend, Luke (Daniel Ings, seen in Sex Education), a zealous womanizer whose list of conquests is especially long…

Subtly mixing the past and present to tell the hero’s adventures, Lovesick knows how to entertain and make people laugh with his British humour. And it’s a hit with subscribers, if we’re to believe its lovely 4.1 out of 5 rating on AlloCiné.

A true anti-depressant, this little gem is worth checking out before it’s no longer available in France.

On Netflix through December 31st.
