
Actress Alexis Floyd, who drew attention in “Inventing Anna”, will join the cast of another series from producer Shonda Rhimes. She will be a permanent cast member of the nineteenth season of “Grey’s Anatomy”.
Floyd will play Simone Griffin, a new surgical resident who begins her medical journey at Gray Sloan. She is funny, smart and busy, but she has a complicated history. She grew up in Seattle but she never wanted to work at Gray Sloan due to a painful personal history with the hospital.
The new character comes after Gray Sloan’s current surgical residents have packed their bags, with the hospital’s teaching program ending at the end of season 18.
Floyd was best known for stage roles and a recurring appearance on season 3 of “The Bold Type” in 2019, but her career was cut short, working in a yoga studio when she sent Shonda Rhimes an audition in 2019. by Neff in “Inventing Anna,” the hotel concierge who befriended frequent guest – and notorious scammer – Anna Delvey.
