Awaiting the Cesars, Emilia Perez is the favorite in the 2025 Lumere Prize nominations.

Which French films will dominate awards season? As every year, Lights Academy opens the ball of predictions by revealing the list of nominees. And her most-nominated film is a feature film that just got a Golden Globe nomination earlier this week…it’s Emilia Perez!

With six nominations, Jacques Audiard’s feature is ahead of Boris Lozhkin’s L’Histoire de Souleymane and Alain Guiraudie’s Miséricorde (five nominations each). These three feature films will be in the running for Best Picture at Lumière, along with Payal Kapadia’s All We Can Imagine and Le Roman by Jim D’Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrier. Four nominations for Francois Ozon’s When Autumn Comes and Jonathan Millet’s Les Fantômes.

Carla Sofia Gascon, Hafsia Hertz, Agnes Jauy, Annamaria Bartholomew and Helen Vincent will fight for the title of best actress. Adam Bessa, Paul Kircher, Karim Leclew, Pierre Nin and Abu Sangare are fighting for the title of best actor.

The 30th Lumières Prizes, presented by members of the Académie des Lumières, international press correspondents from 38 countries, will be presented on Monday, January 20, 2025 at the Forum des images. A total of 13 prizes will be awarded. See the full nominations.
