This is the third time the 77-year-old mayor has been hospitalized in less than a month




The re-elected mayor of Belo Horizonte (MG), Fuad Noman (PSD), he was hospitalized on Thursday 19th, in a Intensive Care Unit (ICU) from the Mater Dei Health Hospital for secondary intestinal haemorrhage.

In a statement released to the press, the hospital specified that the 77-year-old politician was hospitalized due to diarrhea and dehydration. All of these symptoms reflect the medications the mayor is taking, particularly the oral anticoagulant. Fuad has been in charge of the municipality of the capital of Minas Gerais since 2022, when Alexandre Kalil left office to run for state government.

“To clarify the conditions that led to hospitalization and the first measures, the patient is monitored in the intensive care unit. There was stabilization during the night, with no new bleeding. We clarify that the patient is not using drugs or life support equipment “, says the medical report.

This is the third time Fuad has been admitted to hospital in less than a month. Last Sunday he was discharged after spending about a week in hospital for pneumonia and sinusitis. Three weeks ago he was hospitalized again for neuropathy, a severe pain condition resulting from an already cured blood cancer.

Due to his health, Fuad Noman was unable to be present at the graduation ceremony, which took place on Thursday 19th at the Regional Electoral Tribunal of Minas Gerais (TRE-MG) in Belo Horizonte. The mayor was represented by the municipal attorney general, Hércules Guerra.
