Starting June 23, TMC will air new episodes of Yellowstone every Thursday night, a modern western hosted by Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes and Kelly Reilly that follows the adventures of a Montana family that owns the largest ranch in the United States. Fighting to keep us from invading his land.
Launching to less than 3 million viewers in 2018, the series created by Taylor Sheridan (Sicario) and John Linson (Sons of Anarchy) has quickly become a true phenomenon in the United States.
The first episode of the 4th season, which was broadcast on November 7, 2021, really gathered 14 million viewers, and the finale, which was offered on January 2, managed to attract 15 million curious people in front of their television screens.
So it’s no surprise that Yellowstone spawned three spin-offs called 1883, 1923 and 6666. The first, still unreleased in France, launches on December 19, 2021 on the Parmount+ platform. This 10-episode mini-series, directed by Sam Elliott, follows the difficult journey of the Dutton family as they leave Tennessee for Montana to find what would become the Yellowstone Ranch.
Still under the direction of Taylor Sheridan, the second prequel titled 1923, due out in the coming months on the Paramount+ platform, will introduce a new generation of the Dutton family. It explores the early 20th century, when pandemics, historic droughts, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression hit the mountain west.
And after Kevin Costner, Paramount has offered two new big names for the sequel, as Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren will star in 1923.
Finally, 6666, the latest spin-off, will be located at what is now Ranch 6666, a historic ranch in King, Carson and Hutchinson counties in Texas. The series was introduced in the pilot Backdoor that aired in Season 4 of Yellowstone. As of now, no release date has been announced yet.
