The young player will be used by coach Abel Ferreira in the main team in 2025
Palmeiras will have a new face in the squad in the 2025 season. The young Thalys, just 19 years old, will be integrated into the main group led by the coach Abel Ferreira next year.
The athlete is 1.84 m tall and plays as a centre-forward. When he arrived at the Palmeiras base, in the Under 17s, Thalys played in midfield, as an attacking midfielder. Subsequently, in the Under 20s, he started playing in the offensive sector.
The player is from São Miguel dos Campos, in Alagoas. The athlete began his football journey at the CRB base, when he attracted the attention of Palmeiras.
The youngster has speed and great finishing power. In this year 2024, Thalys has been called several times by coach Abel Ferreira to be part of Palmeiras’ “transition group”, which has players training and getting used to the professional team.
In 2022, still playing as a midfielder, Thalys scored 15 goals in 31 games for Palmeiras’ under-17 team. In the last two seasons, with the Under 20s and playing as a centre-forward, he found the net 46 times in 83 games. An average of almost 0.5 goals per game.
The player has a contract with Palmeiras until July 2028. The Sao Paulo club holds 70% of the athlete’s economic rights. The striker is expected to receive opportunities from coach Abel Ferreira in the 2025 Campeonato Paulista.
