Hollywood’s longest-lived couples: what’s their secret?

What is the secret to a lasting relationship? Tough question, right? We know it. So, Celebrity and Celebrity have brought together three Hollywood couples who prove that it doesn’t have to be a secret to work, along with tips from each for keeping your relationship or marriage steady and strong.

David and Victoria Beckham

The former footballer and the model married in 1999 and currently have four children together. In a past interview, David Beckham had already stated that, for both, the secret is to work on the couple’s mistakes and “difficult moments”.

“Of course, people make mistakes and we all know that marriage is complicated sometimes. It’s about overcoming them. When tough times come, we know each other better than anyone,” said.

Meryl Streep and Don Gummer

Despite keeping her life out of the spotlight, Meryl Streep has been married to sculptor Don Gummer for 42 years. In a rare comment on their relationship, he said the key to it working is the fact that they both live very similar lives.

“I’m sure it’s all thanks to him and his kindness. And also because he’s an artist, that helps. It would be hard to marry someone with a different life,” he stated at the time.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett

Finally, another much discussed couple: Will Smith and Jada Pinkett, who have been together since 1997. For Jada the important thing is knowing how to forgive. Therefore, as in the case of David Beckham, the couple believes that it is important to stay together in difficult times in their relationship and not give up.
