The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) has issued a warning of heavy rain in several regions of Rio Grande do Sul in the early hours of Christmas. The alert, classified as yellow, indicates a potential danger and will be in force from 6pm this Tuesday (24th) until 10am on Wednesday (25th).
The metropolitan areas, Serra, Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and part of the central region of the state are on alert. Forecasts indicate intense rainfall, with volumes that could reach 50 millimeters in a single day, accompanied by wind gusts of up to 60 kilometers per hour.
Although the risk of disruptions such as power outages, falling trees and flooding is considered low, the public must be aware of weather conditions and take precautions, especially when travelling. Inmet recommends following the weather updates.
