A masterful duo of actors
France, 2039. One night, activists hunted by the state disappear without a trace. Among them is Julia Bombart. When he wakes up, he finds himself trapped in a completely unfamiliar world: Planet B.
Along with Soheila Yacoub (Dune: Part II, Women on the Balcony) as Noor, a young Iraqi woman threatened with deportation, Adele Exarchopoulos (La Vie d’Adèle, L’Amour Ouf) plays Julia, an activist in this trap. Virtual prison. Their duo bring to life characters that are both bold and complementary, anchoring the film in a thriller-specific tension. Their complicity, sublimated by the precision of their playing, brings a deeply moving dimension.
A timely film
Julia is a representative of the youth facing climate collapse. “He is a modern resistance fighter. says Od Lea Rapin, director. He embodies resistance to the system, as well as the extremely violent legal response he has to face throughout the film.”

The story unfolds in the near future marked by the failure of the Paris Agreement, in a post-apocalyptic world where geopolitical crises are intensifying. Deaths at the borders are rising, and pesticides continue to wreak havoc. For Noor’s character, the director was inspired by a young Iraqi journalist who was forced into exile after publishing a report that displeased the regime.
“It was very important to me to resonate the broken talent of these beings through Noor, who are forced to throw themselves on the paths of exile. I wanted people to feel what it means to lose everything from day to day, identity, job… become nothing but a “migrant”.“, explains the director, who above all wants to question current issues such as eco-anxiety, migration policy or even the threat of new technologies.
Amazing visual immersion
With its stunning settings and impactful visual effects, Planet B transports the viewer into a dystopia that is as depressing as it is hypnotic. Between raw reality and dazzling virtuality, the film portrays a modern and controlled aesthetic that serves its purpose perfectly.

From the sophisticated lighting of the enclosed spaces to the endless sky of the Metaverse, every technical detail enhances immersion in this captivating world, providing an unforgettable visual and sensory experience.
As Planet B takes us into a fascinating dystopia, it invites us to re-examine our present with urgency and hope. A slice of French science fiction to be discovered in cinemas right now.
