Baldoni, actor and director of ‘É Assim Que Acaba’, intends to go to court when the court reopens after New Year’s Day
The lawyer for Justin Baldoni, Bryan Freedmangave details about the process that the actor will open against Blake Livelywho accuses him of sexual harassment on the set of This Is How It Ends.
Second Freedmanthe complaint “is not an answer or counterclaim — it is a deliberate search for the truth.” Baldoni directed the film based on the book of the same name by Colleen Hoover and co-starred with Lively.
The lawyer highlighted that the new process must reveal that the alleged messages exchanged between BaldoniPublic Relations Jennifer Abel and crisis management specialist Melissa Nathan planning the destruction of the reputation of Lively are false.
“This process will uncover and expose the false and destructive narrative that was intentionally crafted by a safe media publication that relied on nefarious sources and neglected a thorough fact-checking process to confirm the validity of these texts,” Freedman stated to People in a written statement.
He continued, making reference to an article published by The New York Times about the case of Lively: “There is an insurmountable collection of authentic evidence, including timelines and communications, that have not been tampered with or spliced without context, unlike altered history [do New York Times] which was published on Saturday, December 21, 2024.”
In more than three decades of practicing law, I have never witnessed such unethical behavior fueled by those who abuse their power and manipulate the truth. This is not an isolated case — it is a recurring pattern in Hollywood and mainstream media, where careers and reputations are destroyed to maintain control. – Bryan Freedman
“Traditional media have long weaponized their platforms to distort the truth, exploit vulnerabilities and destroy lives without accountability,” the lawyer added. “These lawsuits will confront this system head on, ensuring that no individual or entity, no matter how influential, can continue to perpetuate this cycle of fear and destruction.”
Freedman he added: “The truth will not only come to light — it will dismantle the illusions held by those who believe themselves untouchable.”
