Armie Hammer has returned to Hollywood following cannibalism allegations

The “Call Me by Your Name” actor says he’s getting so many job offers that he can now turn down movies

New phase in career

Armie Hammer, known for his roles in major films such as “Call Me by Your Name” and “The Social Network,” said he is regaining acceptance in the entertainment industry. After three years of being apart, the 38-year-old actor revealed in an interview on the “Your Mom’s House” podcast that he turned down invitations due to the number of proposals he received.

“That’s changing, it takes time. It’s slow, but now the conversation around my name with people in the industry is, ‘Man, this guy got screwed.’ And that’s really nice. That’s really encouraging,” Hammer said while appearing on the program.

History of controversies

The actor has been the subject of numerous allegations of sexual harassment and assault, as well as reports of practices involving extreme fetishes, such as cannibalism. The allegations emerged while he was still married to model Elizabeth Chambers, with whom he has two children. Hammer admitted to cheating on his ex-wife, but always maintained that the relationships were consensual.

Despite investigations conducted by the Los Angeles Police Department, the case did not lead to legal action against the actor. However, the scandal barred him from major Hollywood projects and caused him to lose contracts and representation from renowned agencies.

New projects

Hammer returned to acting last year in “Frontier Crucible,” a western that has yet to have a release date in Brazil. The actor revealed that, even without an agent, he is already in negotiations to participate in two new films and a TV series.

“The first project I turned down after four years of this shit, you know, was the best feeling I ever had,” he said, referring to being able to choose what to do again. However, before that, it has closed five films, including a production in Croatia starting this month, which will be followed by a film in the Philippines in the second quarter.

Armie Hammer’s return has sparked discussion about his reintroduction into the industry, at a time when Hollywood is still reeling from scandals involving household names and trying to redefine what to do in the event of allegations, which may not be proven.
