Glorioso came from behind to win in the club’s debut at Copinha 2025
Botafogo beat Fast Clube do Amazonas, this Thursday (2), 2-1, in the 1st round of group 1 of the Copinha. The match was played at the Estádio Municipal Doutor Plínio Marin, in Votuporanga. The match was heavily influenced by the opening goal of the Amazon team, which opened the scoring just six minutes into the first half, with a penalty from Naimerson.
At the end of the first half, João Pedro scored what would have been the equaliser, but the referee did not see that the ball had crossed the line and the goal was not awarded. In the second half, the substitutions made by Alvinegro coach Leonardo Ramos had an effect and Kaique Pereira scored the equaliser, after a great play by Cauã Zappelini. The turning point came from the feet of Cauã Zappelini, with a shot from the edge of the area.
Positive highlights:
Caua Zappelini – The Botafogo midfielder came on during the break and made the move that led to Glorioso’s goal. He also scored the turning point, with a shot into the goalkeeper’s corner.
Kaique Pereira – The full-back, one of Botafogo’s great promises, showed opportunism by scoring the equalizer for the Bianconeri in his first appearance in the match.
Negative Highlight:
Philip January – The right-back committed a childish penalty early in the match and ended up making the match difficult.
