“The girl suddenly called me…”: Nellie Oleson’s (Little House on the Prairie) interpreter was attacked by viewers of the series.

Little House on the Prairie represents, for an entire generation, a lunch break with the Ingall family on the M6. The channel has also been airing episodes since last August at 12:30 PM (!), but on its other channel.

People went crazy

The series celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, and actress Alison Arngrim, who played the little pest Nellie Oleson, recently reminisced. buzzfeed (via Recreational television) his difficult start to the role:

“I knew we were getting a lot of attention – within a few days people were going crazy over my character. The next day I went to class and a girl suddenly called me uncle!”

He adds: He knew this because he knew that an entire generation of women grew up reading these novels and watched Little Joe in Bonanza as adults.

Remember that Little Joe is the teenage character from the western series Bonanza that many young Americans identified with and who seduced many young Americans. He was played by a certain… Michael Landon!

Bonanza ran for 14 consecutive years, from 1959 to 1973, and is still one of the longest-running western series behind Raiders of the Far West (18 seasons) and Gunsmoke (20 seasons), but Little House on the Prairie was. Not bad for Season 9, at a time when westerns were in decline, both on the small and big screen.
