Reigning champions, Corinthians beat Porto Velho in Copinha’s debut

With goals from Bahia, Araújo and Juninho, Timão made it 3-0 and took the lead in Group 27 of the Copa São Paulo

Current champion of Copinha São Paulo de Juniores, Corinthians debuted this Saturday (04) and did not give the slightest chance to Porto Velho. With the 3-0 victory, the team won the first three points of Group 27, located in the city of Santo André.

Just 3 minutes into the first half, midfielder Bahia opened the scoring. Then Araújo, who had come on two minutes earlier, turned with his heel against the near post and covered Emanuel, taking the lead to 2-0. To close out the scoring, Juninho scored his goal shortly after touching the ball for the first time. Pelegrin, who has also just entered, sends Gabriel Caipira to the right. The cross found Juninho at the far post, who found the back of the Porto Velho net. The opposing team still had a great chance with the score 1-0, but Kauê prevented the goal.

Thus, with the victory, Corinthians reached three points, the same score as Santo André, who also beat Rio Branco, from Acre, on Saturday. All group matches will be played at the Bruno José Daniel Stadium.
