Leila says she hasn’t received an offer for Vitor Reis, but doesn’t rule out leaving

Palmeiras president Leila Pereira has revealed that she has no official offer for defender Vitor Reis. Manchester City have reportedly contacted the defender’s agent, willing to pay R$250 million to sign the defender. The agent’s intention, however, is to keep the player in the squad.

In an interview with The Athletic, Leila Pereira said that the aim is to keep the player at least until the Club World Cup, which will be played in June. However, if a profitable offer were to arrive, Verdão would be willing to sit down and negotiate a possible exit.

“(Vitor Reis) is another one of our boys from Palmeiras’ youth sector. He is very talented and is very important for our team. We want to count on him to help us in the Club World Cup. Many European clubs are interested. At the moment At the moment there are many polls, but no official proposal. He has a contract, but if there is something interesting for the club and the player, we will sit down and talk,” Leila said.

Palmeiras’ idea was to negotiate Vitor Reis after the Club World Super Cup for at least 30 million euros (R$ 190 million). With the possibility of a larger-than-expected proposal, Verdão could change plans and close the deal early this year.
