Fans have been eagerly waiting for this for months. The adaptation of the manga Sakamoto Days (published by Glénat) written and drawn by Yuto Suzuki is finally available on Netflix. The platform is actually revealing the first episode of the anime this Saturday, January 11th, which will be simulcast on the streaming platform every week.
Sakamoto Days stars Taro Sakamoto, a legendary assassin who has now retired from the business. Married and a father of a family, the latter now takes on the qualities of a grocery store owner. But it won’t be long before his past resurfaces and forces him to use his extraordinary skills again.
A hero that Netflix subscribers will love
In his adventure, the ex-assassin is accompanied by unreliable assistants, but also by his very protective wife. The whole point of the program is that Sakomoto wants to stay out of trouble and has to use his powers as a last resort. There is no doubt that this Saitama (One-Punch Man) Darron version will win the hearts of Netflix subscribers very quickly.
Several seasons of the program should see the light of day, as the manga is still being published in Japan (20 volumes are available, including 16 also published in France). More than seven million copies had already been sold worldwide even before its animated adaptation aired.
The animation of the program was commissioned to TMS Entertainment studio, therefore it offers a convincing result. The first images of the trailer were well-received by manga fans, but the main credits theme divided netizens.
The animated series Sakamoto Days can be seen every week exclusively on Netflix.
