🟡 Michel Blanc is sorely missed in comedy

After the ceremony, it was time for the first film of this edition, with Les Tuche. The Tuche family has already been to the Alpe d’Huez Comedy Festival several times. The last time was in 2018, for episode 3.
Jean-Paul Rouve was accompanied by Sarah Stern, Elise Larnicol, co-writers Philippe Mechelen, Nessim Chikhauy and composer Martin Rapeneau. The family was not complete, some stopped by filming or recording the Enfoirés concert.

Here they are back with episode 5. In 5 films, the Tuche family created a special bond with the community. The story continues here in the UK with a 5th film focusing on Franco-British understanding: God Save the Lip! It will hit theaters on February 5, 2025.
What is the plot of this episode 5?
plot key 5, Titled “God Save Your Lips,” the action takes place partly in England. Lips still lead a peaceful life in Buzol. But when Gigi, Jeff and Cathy’s granddaughter, is selected for a football camp at Arsenal, it’s the perfect opportunity for the whole family to discover England and meet the royal family. He has yet to imagine that the name Tuche will forever remain a ghost in Albion’s history.
More references, more Robin Hood humor
A major change in this new installment: Olivier Baru is no longer directing. Jean-Paul Roux is now at the helm, and for writing he has been surrounded by Philippe Mechelen, Julien Hervay and Nessim Chichau.
This sequel is a continuation of the previous installments, but we can note the tone is closer to Jean-Paul Ruves, the era of Robin Hood, the comedy troupe from which it comes. In the casting we also meet one of his former companions from the group, Elise Larnicol, who came to the Alpe d’Huez tonight.
Regarding the film’s tone, Jean-Paul Rouve explains:I didn’t want to lose the lip DNA But I wanted to add to my own taste the absurdity or silliness that we adored Robin Hood.”
He adds: “I grew up with them No, Gottlieb and Monty Python. and my side Naive means I like movies full of references or winks – so fleeting that they must be Sometimes watch the movie multiple times to see them.“
Are guests scheduled?
Jean-Paul Rouve, Isabelle Nanti, Sarah Stern, Pierre Lottin, Theo Fernandez and Claire Nadeau return. We do know that an actor will be joining the cast for a surprise role: Bernard Menes (American Night, Le Chaud Lapin, Maine Ocean), who will play… King Charles III. Alice Larnicole plays inspiration from Camilla Parker Bowles.
New director
This new installment of the franchise is directed by Jean-Paul Rouva. This is his 5th feature film as a director without guns, following Ni Hate, Ni Violence (2008), When I’ll Be Small (2012), Les Souvenirs (2015) and Lola and her brothers (2018).
On the RTL microphone, Jean-Paul Rouve spoke about this project, which was far from his previous achievements. “I haven’t had any films to prepare for, to be back on set, I love it“He says he knows he’s in his prime.”big car“As a director.
“We’re doing bigger Asterix-style films, whereas I usually shoot films where I shoot with my camera and three actors… there’s a green background, special effects…“
Producer Richard Grandpierre and director Olivier Barrou will not be associated with the new film due to artistic and financial differences. Olivier Barroux is in the credits as the creator of the franchise.
Saga in figures
If we combine the reception of the 4 films to date, the franchise has sold more than 14 million tickets in total. The most successful episode was Les Tuche 3 in 2018 with 5.7 million entries.
The last installment, which was released in December 2021, in a context still disturbed by the Covid crisis, was a bit disappointing in terms of entries, with 2.4 million entries, or less than half a third.
The Alpe d’Huez Comedy Festival will continue until January 19, 2025.
